Digital Design System

NETGEAR wanted to create a comprehensive visual design system that unifies the experience for different products across platforms. I helped in building repeatable components for products and a set of standards, which will serve as a source of truth for design teams of the networking giant.

My Role

I worked as the UX/UI Designer on the NETGEAR project, handling all user experience and interface design tasks. I was also responsible for client communication, ensuring smooth requirement gathering, design reviews, and feedback integration. Alongside this, I coordinated closely with a graphic designer on the team to maintain visual consistency and ensure all graphic assets met client expectations.

My role covered complete design ownership and cross‑team collaboration to deliver a cohesive and high‑quality design system.

Design–Development Alignment

Since NETGEAR offers a myriad of products, it was crucial to have a design system with a well defined component library. We wanted to unify the experience across NETGEAR products and eliminate IA inefficiencies with the assignment.

Key Pain Points

  • Avoid the creation of multiple different designs for a given product

  • Define the usage of iconography style in the designs of products

  • Eliminate unwarranted multiple pages in the user journey and fix

  • Simplify the complicated process of registering a device

  • Standardise the graphical representation style for the products

The problem we aimed to solve.

Atomic Structure

Atomic Design was proposed as a system that involves breaking down Apps design into its basic components so that they can be reused throughout the design process. Due to new devices with new screen sizes, that are getting released each year, creating pixel-perfect design gets harder if no systems are put in place.

Iconography

We want to create a product visual identity. So we decided to keep it a minimal design iconography for every possible action.

Our illustrations range from detailed hero images down to in-product illustration with a consistent narrative of practicality, optimism, and friendliness used throughout.
